The NOC’s exciting week

On Saturday last the St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee (NOC) held an awards ceremony to recognise outstanding sports personalities with a difference.

Since gaining affiliate status with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of St Vincent and the Grenadines has been consistent in its efforts at facilitating the emergence of a truly national sports culture through its commitment to genuine sports development in this country. On Saturday 15 May 2010, some of this country’s financial institutions came together at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex to participate in what was the 10th anniversary of the Inter Financial Institutions Sports Meet.
The activity was as exciting as has become the norm with the participants from the various institutions competing diligently yet in a fun-filled atmosphere for bragging rights.
The representatives of the National Olympic Committee of St Vincent and the Grenadines failed in their bid to have two proposed amendments to the Statutes of the Pan American Sports Organisation (PASO) squashed at the organisation’s most recent General Assembly in Merida, Mexico.
