National Olympic Committee (SVGNOC)

• Established in 1982

• Has occupied its own Headquarters since 1988

• Executive meets monthly and General Council meets quarterly

• Coordinated the effort to establish SVG's first ever national sports policy

• 1st President - Lennox Adams

• Officially Recognized by the IOC in 1987, President was Audrey Burgin

• 1991 - President was Donnie DeFreitas

• 1997 to present - President is Trevor Bailey

• First Olympic Games - Seoul, South Korea, 1998; SVG has participated in all games since

• First PanAm Games - Havana, Cuba, 1991

• First CAC Games - Mexico City, 1990

• Sent more than 25 coaches for advanced level training of 3 months duration in Hungary

• Hosted the annual Sports Awards Dinner during the period 1990-1998

• Put in place a talent identification scholarship - first recipients are Kineke Alexander, Dominic Ollivierre and Corey Huggins

• Provides administrative training under its itinerant school for sports leaders

• Provides Olympic Scholarships - first recipient is Eswort Coombs - semifinalist 400m in Atlanta
