The Vita Malt Bequia Basketball 19th Tournament came to an exciting conclusion this past weekend at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia, with Raptors dominating East Blazers to capture their first ever Championship in the First Division; Rising Stars defeating Young Duke in a two game sweep for the Second Division title, and Hawks defeating Dragons in a tough fight to emerge as the Under 16 Division Champions.

The Results of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball 19th Tournament concluded this past weekend at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia. Raptors defeated East Blazers in the First Division; Rising Stars defeated Young Duke in the Second Division, and Hawks defeated Dragons in the Under 16 Division.

Bequia Elects Executive for 2017-2019
The Membership of the Bequia Basketball Association elected a new Executive Committee to serve for two years from 2017 to 2019 on June 19th at the Bequia District Council.
Sabrina Mitchell was re-elected uncontested as President, to lead the organization for another term.

UNION ISLAND win Digicel Grenadines Tournament
The Digicel Grenadines Basketball Championship came to a close this past weekend at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia.
The Union Island All-Stars defeated the very disappointed Bequia All-Stars to win for the third consecutive year.
Bequia defeated Canouan by 2 points in a close semi final match on Friday night to make it to the finals, but just did not come out with their usual high energy for the finals on Saturday.

Champions Duke come back to beat East Blazers
In a surprising final result, defending Champions Duke came back from being one game down to beat the favourite East Blazers and take the crown of First Division Champions in the 17th Annual Vita Malt Bequia Tournament, which concluded last night, August 30th at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia.
Veteran Ishama McKree playing his fifth year with Duke, was adjudged MVP of the Final best of 3 series, leading the scoring in the final and deciding game with 36 points.

The Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship opened on Saturday July 12th at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Bequia.
Fifteen teams in three divisions are registered to compete in the 16th Annual Competition which runs until August 31st.
