35 swimmers took part in the SVG General Services 8 and Under Swim Championships organized by the Blue Marlins Swim Club. The event was held at the Shrewsbury pool, home of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Association.
Junior Female Athlete of the Year 2013, Shne Joachim, swam her way further into the record books when she smashed the Barbadian national record in the 50m Breast Stroke event and almost broke that country’s national record for the 100m by 0.75 seconds.
Canadian expert, Colin Higgs, who, several years ago assisted the National Olympic Committee in establishing the country’s National Sport Policy, was in the State again on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 February respectively.
Vincentian athletes and coaches are currently beneficiaries of the expertise of Grenadian Throws Coach, Paul Phillip.
Phillip is in St Vincent and the Grenadines on the invitation Team Athletics St Vincent and the Grenadines (TASVG) and has spent the first week working at schools with PE Teachers and daily at Arnos Vale Sports Complex, with athletes and coaches.
