Laura Geitz appointed fifth official GC2018 Ambassador

Australian netball champion Laura Geitz has been revealed as the fifth official Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) Ambassador in Brisbane today.

The announcement was made by Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk MP at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

Former President of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC), Steve Stoute, has relinquished leadership of what he considers his baby, CANOC, after 17 years at the helm. On Sunday 24 October 2016 Stoute made good on his word given two years earlier when elected in his native Barbados, to step down after two-of the current four-year term.

Lewis was unanimously elected to serve in the capacity following the resignation of former President, Steve Stoute of Barbados.

The Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) will convene in Guadeloupe in late October where it would host its Annual Workshop (22 October 2016) and 14th General Assembly (23 October 2016).

The meetings would be held at the Caribbean Hotel in the capital city.
