Women in Sports Brochure

Women in Sports

St Vincent and the Grenadines can readily boast of always having had women involved in sports. It is a tradition of which we can be very proud.

Many of our national sports associations, clubs and teams can boast of women among their membership, often rising to positions on the Executive. We recognize that this is not the case in several other countries around the world, including some of our Caribbean neighbours.

ImageThe St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee, faithful to the fundamental ideals of the International Olympic Movement captures in the concept of Olympism, has a Women In Sport Commission, headed by Gloria Ballantyne OBE. The Commission has a mandate to promote the fullest participation of women in sport in St Vincent and the Grenadines and ensure that there is no discrimination against girls and women at any level .
