Olympic Day Message – SVGOC President
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever does, and through sport we can make that happen.
As you join to celebrate Olympic Day with us, I want you to keep that in mind, and remember that sport provides opportunities to nurture physical fitness and social interaction skills.
Olympic Day is a celebration for youth around the world to observe the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect. Our Goal is to contribute to building a peaceful and better World by educating youth through Sport. We will continue to encourage participation in sport across St. Vincent and the Grenadines regardless of age and gender.
Today, I call on everyone to be involved in Sport, and together we can change the world to a better place. You are that powerful, that important. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make in our blessed Island. Lets stop all Violence today.
Come and join us for our week of activities beginning from June 14- 23 and take part in all events. It doesn’t matter what sport you belong to. In sport, we are all one BIG family. Get active today: John F. Kennedy once said that “one person can make a difference and everyone should try.”
