Owia shows support for Primary School sports

The annual Owia Primary School Sports 2014 proved to be yet another success story for the North Windward village in many respects.

As has become the norm the parents and villagers came out in support of the athletes and more generally of the school that has served the community so very well.

On the sports day itself Blue Bells, with a total of 464 points, made light work of their opponents, Hibiscus (398) and Buttercups (351), respectively.

The school hosted its annual Sports Awards Ceremony, sponsored by Faycey Trading, on 6 March 2014 before an enthusiastic gathering of students and staff.

The awardees were:

Most Outstanding Pre-School/Kindergarten, Kiara Etiene and Nathan Worrick

Most Outstanding Under 7, Giada Small and Jonte Peters

Under 9 Champions, Nella Lorraine and Kirk Baptiste

Under 11 Champions, Alesha Lewis and Davion Baptiste

Over 11 Champions, Kimura Sutherland and Keine Lavia

Kirk Baptiste captured the Victor Ludorum title while Alesha Lewis took home the Victrix Ludorum award.

Faycey Trading, the sponsor, provided the school with refreshments, a tent and all medals and trophies for awards ceremony.

The Owia community and the students and staff of the Owia Primary School all look forward to the 2015 edition of their annual Sports Day.
