President of the St Lucian Olympic Committee, Richard Peterkin, was accepted as a member of the exclusive club that is the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the process becoming the first St Lucian to be so elevated.
The IOC invited Peterkin to become a permanent member continuing its traditional method of selecting its membership. He now joins Barbados’ Austin Sealey as the two English-speaking Caribbean members on the IOC.
The St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee has extended sincere congratulations to Richard Peterkin on his elevation to the IOC.
