The 2025 ECCB International Netball Series tipped off on August 23 and ran through August 31, bringing together 11 competing nations: Grenada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Dominica, Montserrat, Guyana, and the pride of the Antilles — St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Grenada entered the tournament with the advantage of home court, hosting the week-long showdown at the Tanteen Netball Complex in St. George’s.
The SVG Vincy Jewels secured an 82-point victory over Montserrat, followed by a hard-fought contest against Dominica, where they ultimately prevailed with a 17-point lead at full time.
The tournament proceedings were lit up by the outstanding performances of our very own Vincy Jewels, who impressed everyone with their commanding displays throughout the competition.
- 5th Game against St. Lucia ended with a 14-point victory.
- 6th Game against Anguilla ended with a fiery 60-point victory.
- 7th Game against Antigua ended with a straddling 6-point win; either team could have won.

Grenada stunned the St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Senior National Netball team, the Vincy Jewels, with a nail-biting 64–63 victory on Sunday in the Fifth ECCB International Netball Series, halting the champions’ unbeaten run that stretched back to 2024.
Despite the narrow defeat, the Vincy Jewels were still crowned 2025 Series Champions, thanks to their superior goal average.
Grenada controlled the match from the outset — leading 16–9, 33–28, and 52–43 at the quarter breaks — before withstanding a late SVG rally to scrape home by a single goal. The result echoed the heartbreak of 2023 in Antigua, when SVG also lost the title to Grenada by just one point, 34–33.
Lottysha Cato powered Grenada’s attack with 56 goals from 61 attempts, ably supported by Celina Brown, who converted 8 from 10.
For SVG, goal-shooter Maryann Frederick was equally prolific, netting 56 of 59 attempts, while Shellisa Davis chipped in with 7 of 8 to keep the champions within striking distance until the final whistle..
The championship table told the story: SVG’s consistency carried them to the crown with 16 points and a towering +272 goal difference. Grenada’s one-point thriller wasn’t enough, finishing second on 12 points and +167, while St. Lucia’s spirited campaign also earned 12 points but a far slimmer +73.
SVG’s Maryann Frederick claimed the title of Most Accurate Shooter, delivering a remarkable 92.06% success rate as she netted 429 goals from 466 attempts across nine matches.
Grenada’s star shooter Lottysha Cato wasn’t far behind, finishing with an impressive 85.05% accuracy, scoring 330 goals from 388 attempts in just eight outings.
Frederick’s dominance was further recognized as she captured both the MVP award for SVG and the overall tournament MVP. The Vincy Jewels also walked away with the Best Shooting Team and Best Defending Team honours, underlining their all-round strength.
