The Bequia Basketball Association is very pleased to announce a basketball scholarship to US College for Bequia All-Stars player Craiglee Sam of Paget Farm, Bequia!

Craiglee Sam, familiarly known as Craig, started playing basketball at around the age of fourteen. Craig quickly moved from the junior division in the local annual league up to the senior first division after his first year of playing basketball. It was from there that his love and talent for the game became apparent.

His first year in the senior division quickly saw him develop as the leading scorer on his team. He captured the Bequia Tournament MVP of the Local Championships in 2005, and has maintained that title for two consecutive years. He was also awarded Most Valuable Player in the Grenadines Championships in 2005.He has also received numerous awards for his shot blocking, rebounding and scoring prowess.
Craig currently averages 19.6 points per game, 11.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 3.0 blocks per game. Craiglee also played for St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the Windward Islands Secondary School games, and in the Secondary Schools Basketball Championship, where he represented the Bequia Seventh Day Adventist School.
As a member of the Bequia All-Stars, he has traveled extensively to play throughout the Caribbean islands playing basketball in Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua, St. Maarten, and most recently to Grenada, where he dominated, leading his team in scoring.
Craiglee plays his last games this weekend for the Rising Stars Basketball club, the 2006 defending champions, as the Bequia tournament approaches its final stages, with knock out games Sat Sept 1st, and the tournament finals and trophy presentation on September 9th.
