Cricket funny business – the Patterson Report

It is sad that the WICB itself is so macabre in many respects. There is little hope for the future of the game perhaps because the governments will themselves have to answer to the poor and especially the young poor, when elections come around, for their continued failure to provide the facilities and financial and material support for the sporting disciplines in which they have involved themselves so much so that they are now the most popular in their respective countries.

Perhaps when the youths show politicians that they are willing to cast their votes in national elections for the betterment of their respective sporting disciplines and an independent way of life that allows them to escape the blight of political patron clientilism on which politicians thrive, the political leaders of the region will finally wake up and smell the coffee.
