Guadelajara Update May 24
St. Vincent and the Grenadines had a full schedule of matches being played yesterday monday 23rd May at the CODE II facility in Guadelajara Mexico. St Vincent was drawn in a group that included Cuba, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Our first opponent was Cuba who beat us 3 games to love playing first Carlton Daniel was beaten 3 games to love when he faced Pavel Oxamendy of Cuba score 4/11; 7/11; 7/11.
Kamal Hunte was beaten 3 games to love by Andy Pereira scores 4/11; 3/11; 3/11,
In the doubles Hunte and Spencer teames up to take on Campos and Oxamendy and went under 3 games to love scores 1/11; 3/11; 5/11.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines then took on St. Kitts and Nevis and as if there was venom in the veins of the Vincentians went out took out St. Kitts in an all out assault.
Out first was Carlton Daniel who took on Calvin Lake and beat him 3 games to love score 11/2; 12/10; 12/10 in a rather keenly contested match.
Kamal Hunte took on Vidal Hendrickson beating him 3 games to love score 11/8; 11/5; 12/10.
Hunte and Spencer then team up to take on Riley and Hendrickson and again whop them 3 games to love score 11/3; 11/4; 11/5.
In the final game in our round which we had to win to come out of our group Team St. Vincent and the Grenadines went under to Barbados 3 games to love.
Kamal Hunte went under to Trevor Farley 3 games to love scores 8/11; 8/11; 3/11 in a well fought match.
Carlton Daniel went under to Mark Dowell 3 games to 1 score 11/6; 4/11; 9/11; 5/11.
in the doubles in the match Hunte and Spencer team up to take on Barker and Dowell, the vincies went under 3 games to 1 score 11/6; 3/11; 2/11; 8/11.
Matches will continue with the mens doubles for SVG next on the card in which Kamal Hunte and Romano Spencer would duel with opponents in their group which has not yet been drawn.
