Sports challenges for 2007

Associations must seek to engage executive type personnel even on a part-time basis, if they are to keep pace with developments taking place in sport at the global level.
Associations must be involved in training of all categories of its membership – athletes, coaches, technical officials and administrators. They must make their events more attractive and appealing to spectators.
Marketing must become a hallmark of the operations of national sports associations. Care must be taken to inculcate an overall professional stature in all aspects of the organisation’s work.
Associations must fulfill they regional and international obligations inclusive of participation in major championships.
Athletes and officials must be able to communicate effective in interviews and be familiar with appropriate sports and social etiquette.
Perhaps of all the stakeholders the national sports associations face most challenges and they must be prepared to confront them with confidence.
